  • Does NOT provide the wearer with a reliable level of protection from inhaling smaller airborne particles and is not considered respiratory protection

Kn95 vs surgical masks

N95 and KN95 are superior for bi-lateral protection.

N95 or KN95 Mask:

Both KN-95 and N95 masks are suitable substitutes in terms of mask functionality and performance according to the 3M Corporation and now the CDC. 

The main difference seems to be the licensing provided by NIOSH  National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, which certifies masks for use in health care.
